The two-year-old practice, which provides midwifery and women’s health care for both insured women who prefer the services of midwives and women who are uninsured, under-insured or Medicaid eligible, is managed by Sheila Mathis—a certified nurse midwife— and her husband, Derrick, who is an ordained minister.
In celebration of the recent birth of baby Ashley and significant milestone, the two-year-old Manassas Midwifery was given a basket of gifts to present to Teresa and her baby from the practice’s neighboring Walgreens store at 8697 Sudley Road in Manassas. Teresa also received a hand-knit lavender baby blanket and baby hat, made by a friend of the midwifery.
