Missing Gainesville Man Found Dead In Loudoun County: Police

Joshua Javier Reed, a 36-year-old man from Gainesville, was found dead in Loudoun County on Thursday, authorities announced.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A Gainesville man who was reported missing on Jan. 3 was found dead in Loudoun County, authorities announced on Thursday. Police identified the man as Joshua Javier Reed.

An investigation into Reed's death is being handled by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, authorities said. Reed was found on Thursday in the area of Gum Spring Road, near the Prince William County line, the sheriff's office said. There were no signs of foul play.

The sheriff's office said they are not releasing further information at this time out of respect for the family.

When Reed went missing on Jan. 3, family members told police that he had made "concerning statements," according to the police report. He left his home on Misty Acres Lane in Gainesville around 3 a.m. that day.

Now, a GoFundMe has been established to support Reed's family. On Thursday, the fundraiser had received more than $2,200 from 21 different donors.

According to the fundraiser, Reed and his partner had three children: a 14-year-old, a 9-year-old, and a 7-month old.
