Mobile Vaccine Clinic Back In Manassas As School Year Nears
The Prince William Health District is urging parents to vaccinate their adolescents as the school year nears in Prince William County.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — The Prince William Health District's mobile vaccine clinic will be in Manassas on Thursday, July 15. The clinic will visit multiple locations, and appointments are not required.
On Thursday, the clinic will offer the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. The health district is urging residents to take advantage of the mobile clinics, as the last day to receive a vaccine at the Manassas Mall clinic is on Saturday, July 24.
The mobile clinic will accommodate walk-ups until 7 p.m. on Thursday. Here are the locations and times:

In a news release, the Prince William Health District encouraged parents to get their children vaccinated before they return to school next month. "COVID-19 vaccines are the best way to protect students from the virus," the health district said. "The deadline is fast approaching to have your adolescent fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 before the new school year starts and students return to in-person learning."
The health district reported that July 19 is the latest that students could start their vaccine regimen and be fully vaccinated before school starts in Prince William County and Manassas Park on Monday, Aug. 23. The Pfizer vaccines two doses are administered three weeks apart, and recipients are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose.

In the City of Manassas, school starts on Thursday, Aug. 12. Even getting one dose of the Pfizer vaccine before school starts would be beneficial, the health district said.
In the Prince William Health District, which includes Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, 50 percent of people aged 10 to 19 have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Only 38 percent of those people are fully vaccinated, according to the Virginia Department of Health's vaccine demographics.
