Officer Injured When Car Hits Police Motorcycle
Driver was trying to make U-turn, say Manassas police.

A Manassas police officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after a vehicle struck the officer’s motorcycle Monday morning on Hastings Drive.
The accident occurred at about 10:25 a.m., when the driver of the vehicle attempted to make a U-turn from the right lane of westbound Hastings Drive and hit the motorcycle in the left lane, according to the Manassas City Police Department.

Charges against the vehicle’s driver are pending, said Adrienne Helms, a police spokeswoman. Police did not release the police officer or driver’s names or places of residence.
The police reopened Hastings Drive between Dumfries Road (Route 234) and Hendley Road shortly before noon aftger closing it to investigate the accident.
