New High School Named for State Senator
Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School is scheduled to open in 2016.

The Prince William County School Board has named the county’s 12th high school for State Sen. Charles J. Colgan Sr. At its May 20 public hearing, Colgan was lauded by board members for his dedication to public service, for his statesmanship and advocacy for public education.
“[Senator Colgan] always made his decisions about what was best for Prince William County. He voted across the aisle on any number of issues, and especially at times when compromise was needed to keep the state moving, his contribution was enormous,” School Board Chairman At-Large Milton C. Johns said in a statement.
