Nokesville Woman's Death Investigated At Fairfax County Jail
There were no signs of foul play when a sheriff's deputy found her unresponsive in her cell.

FAIRFAX, VA—Police are investigating a Nokesville woman's death after a medical emergency in her cell at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Monday.
Around 4 p.m., a sheriff's deputy found the inmate unresponsive on her bed in the cell. Deputies and medical staff determined she was having a medical emergency and administered CPR.
The woman, Nicole Van Riper, 47, was taken to Fairfax Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 5:26 p.m.

Police routinely investigate all Fairfax County Sheriff's Office in-custody deaths. There was no sign of foul play. An autopsy report is underway.
