NOVEC Accepting Student Applications For Annual Youth Tour
The deadline to apply is Feb. 17 for high school students in the Manassas area and nearby locations. A written essay is required.
MANASSAS, VA — The application deadline is approaching for area high school students to apply for the annual National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
The Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative will select five high school sophomore and juniors interested in government and history. Selections will be based on grades, a written essay and a short interview.
Those selected will join more than 1,500 students from across the nation for the June 11-15 event, which includes a visit to Capitol Hill, museums and historic landmarks.

Deadline for applications is Feb. 17.
The area students selected with join others from the state in February 2018 for a day at the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond, where they will meet with their local legislators and attend committee hearings.
