Nursing Home Resident Charged With Sexual Assault

Fellow resident treated Sunday at local hospital, say Prince William County police.

Police took a resident of the Birmingham Green assisted living facility in Manassas to jail on Sunday after arresting him for a sexual assault at the nursing home.

Lloyd Don Carter, 61, has been charged with aggravated sexual battery and is being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, according to the Prince William County police. His next date in court is July 29.

At 12:45 p.m. Sunday, police officers responded to a report of an assault at Birmingham Green, at 8595 Centreville Road. An investigation revealed that the victim, a 79-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted by Carter, an acquaintance, police said. The victim is also a Birmingham Green resident.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for an evaluation. Following the investigation, Carter was arrested, police said.
