Osbourn Tops Hylton to Reach Tournament Final

Osbourn's boys basketball team beats Hylton to advance in holiday tournament

Osbourn traveled back to Lake Braddock Wednesday for day two of a holiday tournament in a semi-final match-up against Hylton.

Osbourn, fresh off a Tuesday victory over Robinson, had already defeated Hylton once in the regular season opener, but it was a fairly close game.

Things would go in favor for the Eagles this time around as well, but in a much more convincing fashion. Osbourn played like the dominant team they are, hammering the Bulldogs 77-59 to earn a spot in the championship game.

The Eagles were in control of the game most of the way on Wednesday as they got a balanced output on offense and played a solid game on the defensive end as well.

The senior-heavy Osbourn squad showed why they are so tough to beat: they have several players that can step up to lead the team to victory.

Senior point guard Cedrick Delaney led the team on Wednesday. Delaney was dominant all game long as he finished with an impressive 25 points. The Eagles also got very solid production from Robert Carter who poured in 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Other notable performers were Denzel Lay who scored 7 points, pulled down six rebounds and also had three blocks.  Corey Bedford tallied 11 points, and Landon Dufrene put up eight.

Osbourn improved to 8-0 on the season with the victory and will look to continue their dominance Thursday as they play for the championship against the winner of the Madison vs. Lake Braddock game.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm Thursday evening so get out and support the Eagles!
