Pedestrian Struck By Freight Train in Manassas

A freight train struck a pedestrian early Thursday morning, according to Manassas City Police.

At approximately 3:20 a.m., the adult male was struck by a train on the 8400 block of Kao Circle near Osbourn Park High School. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s name is not being released until notification of next of kin. No foul play is suspected, according to police spokesperson Adrienne Helms.

The incident caused significant delays for VRE riders as trained were stopped in Bristow for most of the morning due to the investigation of the scene.
