Pharmacy Robberies In Alexandria, Manassas Prompt Guilty Plea
A string of robberies at pharmacies, including Manassas and Alexandria locations, led to a man's guilty plea in court.
MANASSAS, VA — A Washington, D.C. man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to charges related to robberies of pharmacies in Virginia and Maryland, including Manassas and Alexandria locations.
Floyd Neal, 32, pleaded guilty in D.C. federal court to three counts of interference with commerce by robbery and aiding and abetting, as well as using, carrying, and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.
Court documents indicate Neal and other co-conspirators participated in several 2021 robberies. The first happened at a CVS Pharmacy in Henrico, Virginia on Feb. 14, 2021. According to prosecutors, Neal and two co-conspirators approached the pharmacy counter with a gun and demanded codeine, hydrocodone and oxycodone. The group left with the drugs in a red SUV.

The next incident was at a Walgreens Pharmacy at 4515 Duke Street in Alexandria on March 25, 2021, according to court documents. Neal and one co-conspirator entered wearing yellow construction vests and posed as customers grabbing beer. The co-conspirator then yelled "give me all the money. Oh, you think I'm playing," reaching toward his waistband to imply a gun. The two men demanded the two employees enter the store's office and stole between $7,000 and $10,000 from a safe. They fled in a 2005 silver sedan.
The third robbery was at a CVS Pharmacy in Beltsville, Maryland on March 31, 2021. According to prosecutors, Neal's co-conspirator went behind the counter, grabbed an employee and demanded the code to the safe. The store manager entered during the robbery and was forced into the back office by the co-conspirator to open the safe. Neal remained at the front of the store and emptied the cash registers while the co-conspirator stole contents of the safe. Both fled in a dark sedan with silver trim.

The Manassas robbery happened at a CVS Pharmacy at 9200 Centreville Road in Manassas. Prosecutors say an employee locked herself in the back office while a co-conspirator grabbed an employee by the neck in the front. Neal ordered an employee to hand over "percocets and oxys" or he would hurt them and demanded they open cash registers. Prosecutors say Neal intended to sell the drugs from the CVS Pharmacy.
Police arrested Neal and the co-conspirator after they fled the pharmacy. A search by police found Neal had a loaded 9mm Hipoint C9 gun.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 21. Neal could face up to 20 years in prison for each count of the robbery charge and up to life in prison for use of a firearm during a drug trafficking offense.
