PHOTOS: PTA, Students Spruce Up School

Jennie Dean Elementary School PTA, volunteers and students paint world map on school's blacktop, which will be used as a learning tool for the upcoming school year.

A group of adult and youth volunteers joined forces with the Jennie Dean Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at the end of the year for several painting projects on the grounds of the school.

The newly-painted world map will provide an outdoor learning space for students and teachers, who will have access to a booklet of games relating to the
map.

The PTA plans to continue working on projects throughout the summer including painting the USA Map, also on the school's blacktop. They also hope to freshen up the school's 4-square courts and finish paingting the garden wall—the site of the.

The U.S. Map project and Garden Wall project will be ongoing after school with available children (with permission) and adult volunteers until complete.

According to Jennie Dean PTA President Suzanne Seaberg, all the projects are weather permitting and dependent on volunteers.  If you are interested in helping with projects or learning more about joining Jennie Dean PTA, please contact Suzanne at seabergfamily@verizon.net or (703) 869-1171.
