Police Investigate Burglaries Of Gainesville Restaurants
Two restaurants in Gainesville were burglarized late Wednesday or early Thursday, according to police.
GAINESVILLE, VA — Two restaurants in Gainesville were burglarized late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, with surveillance footage showing the burglar wearing a mask, a black North Face jacket and gloves, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
At around 10:20 on Thursday, Prince William County police officers responded to the Taste of India located at 14706 Lee Hwy. in Gainesville to investigate a burglary. The caller reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 10:15 p.m. Wednesday and 9:50 a.m. Thursday.
The burglar entered the restaurant through a side door, which was found damaged, according to police. An electronic gaming system was tampered with and an undisclosed amount of money was reported missing from the restaurant.

While investigating the Taste of India burglary, officers were notified of damage to the rear door of the Gainesville Diner, located nearby at 14674 Lee Hwy. The owner reported to police that the suspect entered the business through the rear door, which was found damaged.
The masked suspect, who the police described as male, was seen on surveillance footage entering the Gainesville Diner and taking a lock box before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
