Police: Manassas Woman Tried To Arrange Robbery

Would-be victim pulls knife to foil attempt, according Prince William County Police.

An 18-year-old Manassas woman is behind bars and facing charges stemming from an attempted armed robbery Friday night, according to Prince William County police.

Kendal Renee Stanley is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony and two counts of criminal solicitation, according to a police statement. She’s being held without bond in the Prince William jail, and is due in court on March 17.

The Prince William police said that officers responded at 8:52 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, to the report of an attempted robbery in the 10300 block of Launch Circle in Manassas. The victim, an 18-year-old Manassas man, reported to police that he had made arrangements to meet with a female acquaintance at that location. Police said the acquaintance was identified as Stanley.

Once he arrived at the location, the victim said he encountered an unknown man, who displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim refused and pulled out his own knife, which caused the suspect to flee. No property or money was taken, police said.

Detectives determined that Stanley arranged for the unknown suspect to rob the victim, the police said. The male suspect has not been identified. Following the investigation, Stanley, of 10350 Launch Circle, #304, was arrested on Saturday.

Police describe the missing suspect as a white male, between 16 and 20 years of age, 5-feet-7-inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black fleece-style jacket.
