Police: Robbers on the Loose After Saturday Heist

The Manassas police are searching for two suspects who committed a robbery Saturday evening near a used car lot on Mathis Avenue.
Police responded at 7:06 p.m. to Auto Land, 8905 Mathis Ave., according to a police report. The 31-year-old male victim told officers that just moments prior to their arrival, he had been walking from the Shell gas station at Centreville Road (Route 28) and Liberia Avenue towards Auto Land when he was stopped by two suspects (one male, one female) in an alleyway.

The male suspect displayed a handgun while the female suspect patted the victim down and demanded money, police said. The victim then handed the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash before running to the nearby business to call police.

The police released a description of the suspects:
- Black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, short black hair and brown scarf;
- White female, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a heavy build, brown hair, brown eyes, white shirt and a Southern accent.
