Police: Tiff Between Neighbors Turns Violent
Two sent to jail after Friday night confrontation, say Prince William County police.

A yelling match between neighbors in Gainesville turned into a brawl on Friday night in which a 53-year-old man was hit in the head by a young man less than half his age, according to the Prince William County police.

Austin Lee Kretech, 21, of 10375 Leighton Place in Manassas, and Pamela Lee Walters, 48, of 13576 Filly Court in Gainesville, were both arrested at the scene and charged with malicious wounding, according to a police report. Both were being held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail, and have a date in court on July 6.

At 10:37 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 13500 block of Filly Court in Gainesville to investigate the fight. The victim, a 53-year-old Woodbridge man, was involved in a verbal altercation with a neighbor and her son, police said.
The argument escalated and the victim was struck in the head by the neighbor’s son, identified as Kretsch, according to police. At one point, the victim was on the ground with Kretsch on top of him before a witness intervened and separated them.
Shortly after that, the victim’s neighbor, identified as Pamela Walters, reportedly struck the victim in the face twice, police said. Minor injuries were reported.
