Two Juveniles Charged in Gainesville Burglary

The homeowner discovered intruders in her home and called the Prince William County police.

Two teenagers have been arrested for an April 18 burglary at a Gainesville home, and one suspect is a neighbor of the victim, according to Prince William County police.

Police detectives charged the two teenage boys on Wednesday with burglary, grand larceny and destruction of property, according to a police report. One is a 15-year-old juvenile from Gainesville and the other is a 14-year-old juvenile from Centrevlle. Their next date in court is pending.

The detectives tracked down the pair while investigating the burglary at a residence in the 6900 block of Traditions Trail, the police report said. The police first responded to the home at 6:52 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.

The homeowner told the police that she returned home that evening to find several items out of place. After hearing voices inside the residence, she immediately exited and contacted police.

Upon checking the home, the officers found that jewelry was missing, the police report said. They turned up information that led them to identify one of the alleged intruders, who lived in the neighborhood.
