Shots Fired; One Man Hit, Scene Secure, Not on Stonewall High Campus

BREAKING: No shots fired at any nearby schools, says Prince William County Police. Three schools in "secure" status. No threat to public.

MANASSAS, VA — Two men were injured — one by a gunshot — Wednesday afternoon in the area of Rixlew Lane and Ashton Avenue, according to Prince William County Police.

Although the shooting was relatively close to nearby schools, including the scene of a report of alleged shots fired near Stonewall Jackson High School, there is no active shooter, police note, and the incident did not occur at any of the nearby schools.

Around 3:40 p.m., police arrived at the scene and found two victims by a wooded area. One had been shot and the other sustained some type of minor injury. They both were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police say the incident doesn't appear to be random but there's no public threat.

PWC_PD_Scanner, a Twitter feed that reports scanner activity in the county notes a caller told police he was in the woods near the high school and possibly shot.
