Prince William Names Rebecca Horner As Deputy County Executive
In her new position, Rebecca Horner will oversee Prince William County's departments of planning, economic development and others.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Prince William County has named Rebecca Horner deputy county executive for community development where she will oversee the county's departments of planning, economic development, development services, public works, transportation and parks, recreation and tourism.
Horner previously served as director of Prince William County's planning office. In her six years with the Prince William County government, she also worked as assistant director for the planning office. Prior to joining the Prince William County government, Horner worked as a senior planner for Fairfax County and the director of the planning and building department for Sarpy County, Nebraska.
After conducting a national search, the Prince William County Board of County Supervisors agreed with County Executive Chris Martino's decision to appoint Horner, who will begin in the position effective immediately.

"As our community continues to grow, the areas that fall under community development are critical in helping this board determine and manage that growth in a way that is in the best interest of our residents," Ann Wheeler, chair of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, said Tuesday in a statement. "Therefore, the person in this position plays an important role in helping the board to establish and work towards its long-term vision in that area. We believe Rebecca will do that."
Horner received a degree in political science and a master of community and regional planning degree from the University of Nebraska.
