Rape Reported At Manassas Hotel, Georgia Man Charged: Police
A 22-year-old man from Georgia was arrested Thursday after he was accused of raping a woman at the Red Roof Inn in Manassas on Wednesday.
MANASSAS, VA — A woman accused a man of rape at the Red Roof Inn in Manassas on Wednesday. On Thursday, police said they arrested the man, who was also a guest at the hotel.
The victim, who police only identified as a 35-year-old woman, received treatment at an area hospital. Authorities did not specify the nature of her injuries.
Police identified the man as Freddie Miranda, a 22-year-old from Georgia. He is charged with one count of rape and one count of obstruction of justice.

The Prince William County Police Department said Miranda is being held without bond at the county's Adult Detention Center.
If convicted, Miranda could face up to life in prison.

Officers learned of the rape around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Investigators said a 35-year-old woman was outside of a hotel room when an unknown man approached her.
After a short conversation, the man asked to use the bathroom in the victim's room. The victim entered the hotel room with the man. He then held the victim down, grabbed her neck, and sexually assaulted her, according to the police report.
After the assault, the man left the room, police said. The victim contacted a friend who called the police.
During their investigation, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau identified Miranda as the suspect. On Thursday, detectives said they found Miranda at the Red Roof Inn, where he was staying.
Authorities said Miranda tried to run away when detectives confronted him. The police department said he resisted officers commands, but was taken into custody after a struggle.
