Shots Fired in Manassas: Second Suspect Sought

One suspect found miles from Manassas crime scene. Investigators still recovering evidence, according to police.

Manassas City Police is searching for a second suspect after shots were fired in the Georgetown South area Thursday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area at 1:30 p.m. Thursday after reports of shots fired. Two Hispanic men were seen firing at a passing car, according to police.

They were then seen running into a home at 9605 Aspen Place and a source told police that there may have been high-powered rifles and automatic rifles inside.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided the home Thursday night and authorities were still collecting evidence Friday.

Manuel Gonzalez was apprehended Thursday night near Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge. Manassas City Police is still looking for a second suspect.

Gonzalez is charged with possession of a fire arm by a felon, use of a fire arm in the commission of a felony, shooting at an occupied vehicle and discharge of a fire arm in public.

Investigators believe the shots were fired in relation to a drug deal, and that shots were fired into the Gonzalez's home, as well.
