Teen Assaulted With Knife On Manassas Basketball Court: Police
A knife was produced and a gun was brandished during a confrontation on a basketball court Saturday night in the Manassas area, police said.
MANASSAS, VA — A juvenile produced a knife and an adult brandished a gun during a confrontation on a basketball court Saturday night in the Manassas area, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
The altercation occurred in the area of Adler Lane, near Aaron Lane, in the Manassas area. At about 9 p.m. on Saturday, two groups were arguing while on the basketball courts, the police said.
During the argument, a male suspect, believed to be a juvenile, produced a knife and attempted to stab someone from the other group, identified as a 14-year-old boy, causing a minor graze injury.

Three men and one woman then joined the suspect and began to assault the victim and others in his group.
At one point, one of the suspects brandished a gun. The 14-year-old immediately began to run away. No shots were fired during the incident, according to police.

The suspects quickly fled the area when the police were called Saturday night.
The 14-year-old eventually told a family member about the incident. The family member contacted the police around 8:20 a.m. on Sunday to report the incident.
Along with the graze injury from the knife attack, the 14-year-old suffered other minor injuries, according to police.
