Manassas area couple to be married Friday afternoon, according to reports.

With marriage now legal for gays and lesbians in Virginia, Gov. Terry McAuliffe was expected to officiate his first same-sex wedding Friday afternoon for a Manassas area couple, according to the New York Times.

Katherine Bradley-Black, 44, and Renée Bradley, 50, are education administrators, according to the Times, with two children, ages 12 and 8.

“I am honored to be a part of this important occasion as Virginia legally recognizes the partnership between two people who are committed to sharing their lives together,” Mr. McAuliffe said in an email to the Times.
