Wadia Sininger, 73

Sininger, Wadia Hadeed, 73, of Manassas, formerly of Ramallah, Palestine wife of the late Donald Sininger. Mother to Tony Sininger and Teresa Sininger Cochran.

She immigrated to the United States at 15 from the West Bank speaking no English. Her industrious nature made her a quick study and she quickly assimilated into her new life in America, but her heart never left Palestine. She raised her kids in the Melkite Church and taught them Arabic, the culture and how to cook the foods from the homeland.

Wadia was a member of the Ramallah Club, worked at Pennington Elementary school as a teacher's assistant for 10 years, loved to travel and worshipped her grandchildren. She was a bright mind who was politically active. Never to be a shrinking violet she set an example to the family of how to be a strong working woman long before that was commonplace. She always had a bird named George in the kitchen.

She is survived by her son Tony Sininger, her daughter Teresa Cochran, her grandchildren Jacob Sininger, Nicholas Sininger, Jac Cochran and Colm Cochran as well as her brothers Charlie Hadeed and Theodore Hadeed and her sisters Mary Hadeed Fattaleh, JanefHadeed Bateh, Kareemeh Hadeed Boardman, and Amal Hadeed Alion.

The viewing and funeral mass will be held at Holy Transfiguration Melkite Church, 8501 Lewinsville Rd, McLean, VA. The viewing will be on Wednesday April 30th 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral mass will be on Thursday May 1st at 11am.
