Warrenton Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash In Bristow: Police

A 2013 Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound on Wellington Rd., when the driver lost control and the truck went airborne, police said.

BRISTOW, VA — A Warrenton man died in a crash Thursday afternoon in Bristow after his vehicle veered off the road, the Prince William County Police Department said Friday.

At around 3:50 p.m. Thursday, police officers went to the intersection of Wellington Rd. and Rollins Ford Rd. to investigate a single vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a 2013 Toyota Tacoma was traveling eastbound on Wellington Rd. approaching Rollins Ford Rd., when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the roadway.

The vehicle went airborne before coming to a rest in a grassy knoll on the opposite side of the road. Other motorists performed CPR on the driver until rescue personnel arrived at the location, the police said.

The driver, James Scott Edwards, 36, of Warrenton was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Speed and alcohol use are not believed to be factors in the collision, according to police. The cause of the crash is currently unknown and remains under investigation.
