Weather Delay for Manassas City Schools on Thursday

Manassas City Public Schools are hoping a late start time will help avoid dangerously cold temperatures and road and sidewalk ice issues in the morning.

Schools will be starting two hours late on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for the area until 8 a.m. Thursday.

“Bus delays may be possible due to street conditions in some areas,” according to an MCPS statement. ”Although the wind chill advisory will expire at 8 a.m., weather reports indicate sunny and cold conditions throughout the day. Please remind students to dress warmly for the frigid temperatures.”
