In the wake of the recent natural disasters in Japan, emergency preparedness is on the minds of local officials and many residents in our area.
The state of Virgina has scheduled a state-wide tornado drill for Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m. and the Prince William County Police Department is urging area residents and business to prepare an emergency plan for themselves, their families employees and even pets.
As seen in Japan, a natural disaster can occur at any time with little or no notice. Already this year, at least one tornado watch has been issued for Prince William County. As a result it is good to have a plan in place until help can arrive.
