Woman Shot Through Floor in Haymarket: Police

She was seriously during an argument by a third party who accidentally shot through the floor, according to Prince William County Police.

HAYMARKET, VA — A woman was seriously injured Tuesday night after inadvertently being shot in the leg during an argument by a third party in the 6100 block of Popes Creek Plaza, according to Prince William County Police.

Thomas Riley Baggerly, Jr., 48, of the aforementioned address, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and released with a court summons.

Shortly after 8 p.m., police responded to the scene and found a 52-year-old Haymarket woman suffering from a serious leg wound, after which she was flown to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said while the victim was involved in an argument with an acquaintance inside the garage of the townhome, another resident went upstairs to get a handgun and then accidentally discharged it. The round went through the floor and hit the victim.
