94-Year-Old Killed, Tractor-Trailer Driver Charged After Prince William County Crash

A driver was killed after a tractor-trailer swerved into oncoming traffic on a Prince William County road.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – A 94-year-old driver died days after a collision with a tractor-trailer in Prince William County Friday night, county police say.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, shortly before 7:15 p.m. Friday, a Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling northbound on Nokesville Road failed to see a car that was stopped while waiting to make a left turn onto Fauquier Drive. When the driver of the Freightliner tried to slow down, he swerved into the southbound lane and hit a 2010 Ford F-150 traveling southbound.

The driver of the Ford, Louis Arthur White, 94, of Manassas Park, was taken to a hospital but died of his injuries on Sunday.

The Freightliner driver, Corey Latel Heflin, 38, of Springfield, has been charged with reckless driving.
