
You may know somebody who has a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. How is that?
Well, a recent government study was released March 20, 2013 indicating that 1 in 50 school age children have some form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Perhaps you may have seen information about this Autism thing or perhaps you heard someone mention it. What is Autism?
According to Autism Speaks, Autism Spectrum Disorder and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. They include autistic disorder, Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, pervasive developmental disorder-not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) and Asperger syndrome.

This behavioral disorder is quite complex and I suggest you head to the Autism Speaks website and educate yourself.
