City Water Passes Tests

The year-long testing of the city's water quality is mandated by the federal government.

Manassas Park's 2010 Water Quality Report did not identify any violations for the city's water supply.

From Jan. 1, 2010, to Dec. 31, 2010, more than 100 samples were taken from the Potomac River and Lake Manassas, the city's two sources of water.

All water servicing east of Rt. 28 from the Potomac River is treated at Fairfax Water's James J. Corbalis Plant and all water servicing west of Rt. 28 from Lake Manassas is treated at the City of Manassas Water Treatmant Plant.

The testing was for lead and copper, water disinfection and disinfection byproducts such as chlorine and contaminants such as barium and fluoride. The testing is also for water clarity (turbidity).

None of the city's samples surpassed any of the maximum levels.
