CNBC Names Virginia Best Place To Do Business

Virginia has been named by CNBC as the best state in which to do business.

The commonwealth has finished first or second (swapping places frequently with Texas) since the network began the rankings in 2007.

Some of the criteria: cost of doing business, quality of life, infrastructure and transportation, economy, education, proximity to a capital and technology.

Gov. Robert McDonnell sat down for an interview to talk about Virginia's business climate with CNBC.

"Our focus, from day one of this administration, has been to put in place the policies that will help private sector businesses create those jobs in the Commonwealth and get our economy back on track," he said. "We’ve done that by keeping taxes low, getting government spending under control, having a strong Right to Work law, and making smart investments in transportation, economic development and higher education."
