“We have two, full basketball courts, a fitness center with cardiovascular and training equipment, an indoor pool, multi-purpose rooms and exercise studios where we host a variety of aerobic classes,” said Swisher.

Indeed, the center is impressive.  The gym boasts several ellipticals, treadmills, exercise bikes and rowing machines.  There is also a full strength-training line.

Aerobic classes are offered daily and range from the wildly popular zumba and yoga classes to the muscle conditioning and senior strength and sculpt classes. There’s something for everyone.   This week, Patch will visit some of these classes to provide further insight into the individual programs.

There are also children’s classes available such as “biddy basketball,” so adults can participate in classes while their children are entertained on the courts.

“The center is open to anyone. Manassas Park residents get a price break on the programming, but anyone can join.  The center is located to where it’s beneficial for Centerville, Manassas and all over Prince William County,” Swisher said.

Here are the annual rates for the community center:

Single Adult-$420 non-residents $546

Family: $900 non-residents $1,170

Couple:$660 non-residents $858

Senior Citizen:$240 non-residents $390

For an additional fee, members can upgrade to a "Splash" membership which includes access to the Signal Bay Water Park.

While annual, six-month and now three-month memberships are available, residents and non-residents can also use the facility by purchasing a daily pass that grants them access to all gym facilities.

Daily “drop-in” passes can be purchased at the front desk of the recreation center.  Residents of Manassas Park pay $4, while non-residents pay $5.  Non-members wanting to take advantage of aerobic classes for the day are charged an additional $4 or $5, depending on their residence.

The recreation center is located on Adams Street in Manassas Park and is open Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. , Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
