Grab and Go: Oct. 5 Edition

Enjoy the crisp October weather by getting out with your family for the different performances and races this week.

• Head over to the Central Community Library and pick up October’s monthly mind bender contest form and complete it with the whole family.  This month’s topic is “Monster Mania.” You could win a new book if you submit your correct answers! The contest ends on Oct. 31.

• Find some treats at the Manassas Farmers’ Market at the Harris Pavilion in Old Town Manassas on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

• Attend Bingo night with the OWL Volunteer Fire Department in Woodbridge on Wednesday and Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

• Drop your 5 to 11-year-olds off for Friday Night Fun at the Freedom Center in Manassas on Friday and enjoy a night out.

• Enjoy the Manassas Chorale Fall performance of “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory” at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

• Get active at the Manassas Park 10-mile and 5K on Saturday at 7:30 a.m.

• Find some treasures at the Manassas Lionesses Lions Club Yard Sale on Saturday at 7 a.m.

• Support the local middle and high school celebrities by attending a sporting event:

2. Manassas Park High School cross country at Strasburg High School on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
3.  Manassas Park High School volleyball vs. Madison County High School on Thursday at 6 p.m.
4. Manassas Park High School freshman football vs. Rappahannock County High School on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
5.  Manassas Park High School girls track vs. Bull Run Middle School on Friday at 4:45 p.m.
6.  Manassas Park High School varsity football at Rappahannock County High School on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
