Manassas Park Schools Make Weather Decision For Dec. 16

MANASSAS PARK, VA — Public schools in Manassas Park will be opening two hours late on Monday, Dec. 16 due to possible icy conditions in the early morning hours. Officials made the announcement Monday morning.

The Manassas Park City Schools system has special procedures for two-hour delays, including:

• The morning Early Childhood Special Education Preschool program at Cougar Elementary School will not meet when schools are delayed two hours.
• The afternoon Early Childhood Special Education Preschool program at Cougar Elementary School will remain on its regular schedule under a two-hour delay.
• Breakfast will be served when schools operate on a two-hour delay.

The National Weather Service forecasts rain and sleet becoming all rain after 10 a.m. in Manassas Park. Total daytime sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
