Manassas Police Release Sketch of Assault, Indecent Exposure Suspect

Police are looking for a man who assaulted a woman on a Bull Run area walking path and may also be responsible for an indecent exposure in the same area.

Prince William County Police released a sketch of a suspect they said is responsible for attacking a woman as she walked home in the Bull Run area of Manassas. 

Police said they were called to the 8100 block of Seymour Road in the Manassas area of Prince William County on June 19 around 8 p.m. to investigate an assault and battery report. 

The victim, a 21-year-old female of Manassas, told police an unknown man had struck her from behind, knocked her down to the ground and assaulted her while she walked home on a "footpath" through the woods.

See the attached map of assault area, which is believed to have taken place in a wooded area between Ashton Avenue and Seymour Road near the Bull Run Racquet and Swim Club and Blue Gray and Caraway Circles.

The victim, who was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, was able to fight off the man who fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.

Police said they are investigating the possibility that this case may be related to another case in which detectives received information about an indecent exposure that occurred in the same area with a suspect description similar to the one provided by the victim.

A sketch of the suspect is attached to this article. He is described as a white male, in his 20s, 6-feet-tall and 180 pounds with a thin build. The suspect was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes, police said.
