Zabb Thai is a perfect infusion of classic Thai cuisine in an ultra-modern setting. The first thing that caught my eye was the size of the restaurant. Nestled away at the end of a shopping center, I expected it to be quaint. But as I opened the door and saw the clean, white stark lines of the main dining floor, the colorful pan-Thai mural splashed behind the booths on the upper level and the bright sizable bar, I was taken aback.
For starters, we ordered several appetizers: Fried calamari, Thai shu-mai and vegetable spring rolls. The calamari was the freshest, perfectly cooked calamari I've ever eaten. The batter was crispy, but the inside was juicy and tender. The Thai shu-mai, were steamed dumplings filled with crab meat, minced pork and shrimp. I've never had the combination before, but it was amazing. The spring rolls were pretty standard, nothing exceptional. I loved the homemade duck sauce that came with the spring rolls and Thai shu-mai. It was the best I've ever had.
For mains, we split a vegetarian drunken noodle. It was spicy, but not overly spicy. The vegetables were fresh and absolutely delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the fried tofu or of the cooked lettuce that popped up every now and again, but aside from that, it was amazing.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was well decorated, I loved looking around at the aesthetics while I dined. The bathroom was impeccably clean and a work of art in itself. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will probably end up coming back at least once a week myself.

Zabb Thai is located all the way on the left corner of Bull Run Plaza, the same center that houses previously reviewed Akasaka Resturant. Zabb is known by locals for its great Thai food. When we walked in, we were stared down for a brief second, but then quickly offered a seat. I had previously ordered delivery, but had yet to visit inside. I was shocked at how much larger it was than I expected, as most strictly Thai restaurants, with the exception of larger chain places like Neisha, are very small. The server quickly brought over waters and menus. Our appetizers were out within 10 minutes.
For the appetizers, we ordered shrimp garden rolls and chicken satay. The garden rolls were well fried and went well with the sweet and sour sauce. The satay was infused with a strong, strong peanut flavor, and tasted good overall. For entrees, we ordered the chicken pad thai and beef drunken noodles. The pad thai was a little overcooked, but the seasoning was perfect. There was scarcely any meat, but what was there tasted fine. The beef drunken noodle was tasty and interesting. They used larger tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes, and the noodles were also a little over fried, but overall tasty. Also, I asked for extra spicy and it was not very spicy at all.
Overall, I would certainly recommend this place to others, the service is fast, the food is better than most and the staff is pretty friendly. The place also has a large amount of space, and is much more modern looking than most Thai places. They also have a fast delivery and carry-out service, in addition to catering. I will definitely be returning.
