I walked through an open door into Glory Days this week and I was greeted by two hostesses. I decided to take a seat at the bar where a bartender came over within a couple minutes of my arrival and took my drink order.

AND (drum roll) I was handed a menu, without having to ask for it, I almost fainted and fell off the bar stool.

For you loyal readers of Salt and Peppered,  you know not being given a menu is a source of frustration for me at almost every resturant I visit.

He was very polite. I ended up just ordering the Santa Fe egg rolls, which were tasty but over fried. The order came out very fast, in under 10 minutes. I couldn’t finish them all  and when I asked for a box, the bartender went in the back and got a fresh container of the accompanying sauce, which I thought was very nice, considering most bartenders and servers just hand you a box without even considering the fact you might want to have the sauce for the road. But he even went above and beyond to get me a fresh batch of sauce.

Glory Days is located in Signal Hill Shopping Center and often attracts quite a crowd. This specific location opened about six or seven years ago  and is a hot spot for sport fans. With 30  televisions, including some very large ones, located around the restaurant, visibility is no issue. The crowd and the atmosphere is similar to that of a Red Rocks. I’ve been to the Centreville, Woodbridge and Manassas locations; they all seem exactly the same to me.

Prior to my Salt and Peppered excursions, I only vistied Glory Days because I was invited by someone. My future visits will probably be for the same reason. While the food was okay  and the service was good (at that particular location), there’s nothing there that really draws me in.

Cleanliness: 3/5

Atmosphere: 3/5
