MCLEAN, VA — A longtime business in McLean seeks support to avoid closing due to the coronavirus pandemic's financial impact. McLean Family Restaurant, a 51-year Kapetanakis family operation, made the plea to customers Wednesday on Facebook.

"The impact of COVID-19 to MFR has been devastating," reads the post. "We are a local family business, that has been around for 51 years, as your local neighborhood family restaurant. From supporting our Little Leagues, local schools, and to anyone who just needs to have a warm meal we have been there for you."

The restaurant has seen a drop off in customers and is struggling to break even. According to the owners, staying open will be dependent on business from more customers. A GoFundMe account has been set up to pay expenses such as pay for employees, some of which have worked there for a decade or more.
