Author to Launch High School Romance Series in McLean
Vera "Woody" Woodson will launch her book "Scattered Shells: Hello Homecoming" locally at the Pink Palm boutique in McLean.

Soon, school will be out and it’ll be time to relax by the pool with a great summer read.
That’s where Vera “Woody” Woodson, M.Ed., Ed.S., Marketing teacher at South County High School, comes in. She has written her first novel in a series titled “Scattered Shells: Hello Homecoming.”

Here’s a bit of what it’s about, from its description on Amazon.com:
“Whoever said high school was easy, must have attended school online. Charlie faces the ups and downs of high school life with the entire social media spotlight surrounding every scene. Woodson has partnered with local retail leader Pink Palm boutiques to launch her local book tour beginning Saturday, April 25 in McLean and Sunday, May 3 in Bethesda.
During the in-store pre-sale promotion, the book will retail for $10 for all educators attending the event. Anyone who purchases the book will will receive a 10 percent discount on any full-price Lilly Pulitzer item in the store.
“Scattered Shells” officially launches on May 5 in Barnes & Noble, Amazon, other online sites and e-book readers.
