Craigslist Phone 'Purchase' Goes Bad in Tysons: Police

Incident took place Wednesday afternoon.

Fairfax County Police report that a person was swindled out of cash after arranging to meet someone in Tysons to buy a phone.

The victim met the suspect through the Web site Craigslist and agreed to meet for the purchase of a phone, police said. After meeting up, the suspect took the victim’s cash and fled, according to FCPD.

The robbery took place Wednesday afternoon in the 8100 block of Leesburg Pike, according to police. Police were called at around 1:35 p.m.

Police said the suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing a black T-shirt and pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact police immediately.
