Crash Into Utility Pole Closes Georgetown Pike Overnight
The driver had minimal injuries after the Great Falls crash but the power pole had to be replaced.

GREAT FALLS, VA—Georgetown Pike was closed overnight in both directions after a crash at an intersection in Great Falls Sunday night.
Police notified residents of the crash at Georgetown Pike and Olde Georgetown Court, which happened around the 8 p.m. hour. The driver got minor injuries after the car crashed into a utility pole. The crash knocked down the pole and wires.
VDOT warned commuters early Monday the road could remain closed through the early morning commute. Authorities as far as Loudoun County urged drivers to use alternate routes.

The road was closed in both directions as Dominion Energy crews replaced the pole. Police said the road reopened as of 7:46 a.m.
