The first weekend of November includes events like the Dia de los Muertos Fest, craft fairs, DMV Black Restaurant Week and more.

WASHINGTON, DC — Heading into the first weekend of November, it's a transition from fall and spooky events to holiday shopping season.

We've rounded up local events happening Friday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 7. There are still fall festivals and Halloween events wrapping up. It's the last weekend for the Fields of Fear at Cox Farms and Workhouse Haunt: The Collection.

It's not too early to start Christmas shopping and support local artisans. Upcoming craft fairs like the Czech Christmas Market and Woodson Craft Show are happening this weekend.
