Dehydrated, Injured Dog Found In Tysons: Police
Police say the stray dog was likely shot with a projectile and had a fractured leg.

UPDATE: Police have learned the dog went missing from a foster family in June. Her injuries are likely from before she arrived at a rescue and went to the foster family. She will return to the family upon release from the animal hospital.
Fairfax County Police are seeking information on an injured dog believed to have been abandoned in the Tysons area.
Officers located the female dog Sunday in the 8000 block of Skokie Lane. The stray dog appeared dehydrated and weakened. Police believe she was shot with a projectile of sorts.

A veterinarian evaluated the dog and found a fractured left front leg, fractured pelvis, and a bad cut on her back left leg.
She is believed to be a pit bull mix and may have been brought to the area and abandoned. The Fairfax County animal shelter is holding her at this time.
