About MD2 McLean
Having pioneered the concept of concierge medicine in the late nineties, the Seattle-based MD² announces a new office in the surging area of Tysons Corner in McLean, VA, which expands their distinguished practice into eleven cities in the US: New York (2 offices), Boston, McLean, Chicago (2 offices), Dallas, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Menlo Park, Portland, Bellevue and Seattle.
Recognizing that medical care should not be a one-size-fits-all model, and that the highly mobile, financially affluent sector of the population in the U.S. often have unique demands and time constraints in their lives that are incompatible with traditional medical systems, MD² emerged as a radically simple concept to address their specific needs. Core to the model is the tenant that each physician limits their practice to 50 families. MD² identifies and selects only the most seasoned physicians, all of whom have over 20 years of experience caring for their communities. Each MD² physician has worked side by side with the most renowned specialists and are each connected to the top medical institutions in their cities. Taken together, MD² has assembled the most distinguished internal medicine group in the country—whose sole purpose is to care for each patient as they would one of their own family members. The result is a long-term and trusting relationship between doctor and patient, exactly the kind of medicine that doctors of such high caliber envisioned they would someday practice.
MD² is the brainchild of Seattle-based Dr. Howard Maron, who left his well-established practice of over 3000 patients to create an entirely new way of practicing medicine. He believed by substantially limiting his number of patients, he could truly care for and attend to each individual’s medical needs. At the time, Dr. Maron didn’t realize his concept would spawn an entire new category of healthcare, called “concierge medicine”. He simply felt he could honor the cherished relationship between patient and physician by focusing exclusively on personalized care.
Since that time, MD² has expanded throughout the US with plans to open more offices in centers of medical excellence as the needs of the their patient population continue to grow. The MD² McLean practice is overseen by two prominent internists: Dr. Anthony (Tony) Casolaro, and Dr. Sue Wittig.
Dr. Anthony Casolaro has been a notable and highly-respected physician in the D.C. area for over 30 years and was a former Chief of Staff at Virginia Hospital Center and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine. He was named a “Top Physician” by Washingtonian Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Washington Post Magazine and Superdocs.
Dr. Suzanne Wittig was named a “Top Doctor” by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine since 2005 and 2011 respectively. After receiving her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, Dr. Wittig went on to earn her medical degree from Georgetown University’s School of Medicine, graduating with multiple honors and merits. Dr. Wittig completed her residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University. Prior to joining MD², Dr. Wittig was a partner and internist at Pulmonary and Medical Associates, where she also served as the Chief of their Internal Medicine Division.
