Dog's Killing Results In Charges For McLean Man: Police
Police were called when neighbors found a trail of blood to his door.

MCLEAN, VA—Fairfax County Police have charged a McLean man for the alleged killing of his dog.
Police were called to the 1600 block of Spring Gate Drive Tuesday morning when residents reported a trail of blood leading to the man's apartment door. Officers found the man and the deceased dog inside, and detectives and Animal Protection Police were called to the scene. Police say "evidence was recovered" about the man's involvement, but no details were released.
Robert Hutchins, 41, was charged with felony animal cruelty, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a felon and firearm use in the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
