Summer Is Almost Here: Join McLean Swim & Tennis Association

Mclean Swim & Tennis Association

If the last couple of weeks are any indication, summer is arriving early in McLean. After a cool and wet spring, the recent stretch of warm temperatures has many families thinking about pool days, summer activities, and how they want to spend the months ahead. With Fairfax County schools preparing to wrap up for the year, now is the perfect time to make plans for a summer filled with recreation, friendship, and community. The McLean Swim & Tennis Association (MSTA) is currently welcoming new members and, unlike many area clubs, we have both Equity and Seasonal Rental Memberships available with no waiting list. Located in the heart of McLean, MSTA offers a family-friendly environment where members can enjoy swimming, tennis, social events, and a strong sense of community throughout the summer season. For families looking to keep children active during the school break, MSTA is home to the McLean Marlins Swim Team and offers opportunities for swimmers of all experience levels. Whether your child is just learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming or is looking to continue developing their racing skills, there are opportunities to participate and grow in a supportive environment. In addition to swim team activities, MSTA hosts summer swim camps and tennis camps that help children stay active, build confidence, and make new friends during the summer months. These programs are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible to a wide range of ages and skill levels. While children enjoy camps, swim team, and recreational activities, parents can take advantage of the club's pool, tennis courts, and social atmosphere. MSTA has long been known as a neighborhood gathering place where families can relax, connect with friends, and create lasting summer memories. Summer is almost here. Make MSTA part of it.

Start With Chords

Start With Chords provides personalized, in-home piano instruction for teens and adults throughout McLean, Virginia, and the surrounding communities including Great Falls, Vienna, Tysons, Falls Church, North Arlington, and Oakton. By bringing professional music education directly to your living room, the service eliminates the need for travel and ensures students learn on their own instruments. Whether you are a complete beginner or returning to the piano after years away, the program is designed to fit seamlessly into your home environment. The curriculum specializes in a unique chord-based teaching method that prioritizes playing recognizable pop, rock, and soul songs from the very first lesson. Rather than starting with traditional note reading, students learn chord shapes and play along with original recordings to build confidence and musicality quickly. This practical approach ensures that students are performing real songs within their first month, with formal notation introduced later as a tool to support the skills already developed. Students benefit from a flexible, no-contract, pay-as-you-go structure that allows for a stress-free learning experience. You can expect a supportive environment that includes a free 30-minute initial home visit to assess your setup, along with regular opportunities to perform through monthly recordings and quarterly living-room concerts.
