Fairfax Chamber Announces 2015 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards Winners

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce (Fairfax Chamber) has announced the winners of the 2015 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards. The awards were presented at the Chamber’s Annual Chairman’s Luncheon before an audience of members of the business community, elected officials, and other community leaders.

Presented across eight categories, the awards honor extraordinary business leadership and above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility (CSR). The nominations period took place from January-March 2015. Finalists and winners were chosen by an independent selection committee from a competitive field of applicants.

· Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics—Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year (Mid-Size Business) (Springfield)

· Commonwealth Consultants—Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year (Small Business) (Vienna)

· PRS, Inc.—Non-Profit of the Year (McLean)

· Deltek—Partnership Award (Herndon)

· Verizon—Sustainability Award (Fairfax)

· Dr. Charles Thomas, Jr., LMI—Emerging Influential of the Year (Tysons Corner)

· Mary Agee, Northern Virginia Family Services—Executive Leader of the Year

“We’re proud to honor these companies, non-profits and individuals, which embody the strong commitment to community common throughout Northern Virginia businesses,” said Fairfax Chamber President & CEO Jim Corcoran. “Through their leadership and corporate social responsibility efforts, they make meaningful contributions to the well-being of our community.”

The Lifetime Achievement Awards, selected by past Chamber chairs for lifelong dedication and service to the Northern Virginia business community, were presented to Edward Bersoff, Ph. D., Managing Director, PFF, LLC and James Dyke, Senior Advisor, McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC.

The NOVAForward Award, which recognizes exceptional work to move Northern Virginia businesses and the community forward, was presented to Alex Orfinger, Executive Vice President, American City Business Journals.

Outgoing Fairfax Chamber Chairman Phil Panzarella, President & CEO of CPS Professional Services, LLC, presented awards for exemplary service to the Chamber over the past year. Recipients of this year’s Chairman Awards included:

· Doug Brammer, Area Manager, Verizon

· Wayne Corini, Partner, Grant Thornton LLP

· Sam Ibrahim, Shareholder, Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney PC
