Land Purchased For Proposed Tallest Building In The Region

The proposed Tysons building would have retail, a hotel and condos. At 48 stories, it would be taller than the Washington Monument.

TYSONS, VA—A proposal to build a 48-story building in Tysons, the tallest in the DC region, is making progress as the developers secured their first piece of land.

Bisnow reports Tysons Development LLC bought a 1.8-acre, $26 million piece of land near the Spring Hill Metro Station for the proposed View at Tysons development. The project would include the 48-story building with retail, a hotel and condos, two apartment buildings, two office buildings, a performing arts center and a public plaza. A 7.1-acre nearby piece of land is expected to be sold as well.

The developers have applied to rezone the space, but there has not yet been a hearing at the Planning Commision or Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, according to the Washington Business Journal. A number of other developments have been approved around the Spring Hill Metro in the fall.
