McLean Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested, Charges Pending
Montgomery County Police arrested a suspect in connection with three armed bank robberies in their jurisdiction.

MCLEAN, VA — A suspect in the Oct. 27 McLean bank robbery was arrested in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The suspect, Noel Omar Lorenzo, 41, of Rockville, is the same suspect charged in three armed bank robberies in Montgomery County. Charges are pending for the McLean bank robbery.
The McLean bank robbery happened at the Capital One Bank at 6890 Elm Street on the afternoon of Oct. 27. The three Montgomery County robberies were at Capital One Bank at 10707 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington on Sept. 25, Wells Fargo Bank at 13920 Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill on Oct. 2, and Capital One Bank at 101 Halpine Road in Rockville on Oct. 15.

Montgomery County detectives determined the suspect of the three armed robberies appeared to be the same person based on witness descriptions, banks’ video surveillance, and similarities in the suspect’s modus operandi.
Detectives sent information to surrounding jurisdictions about the robbery trend and suspect. On Oct. 28, Fairfax County detectives contacted the Montgomery County detectives to say they believed the same person committed the McLean bank robbery. Detectives from both police departments worked to identify Lorenzo as the suspect.

Lorenzo was arrested on Nov. 4. He was charged with three counts of armed robbery and firearm-related offenses and taken to the Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
After Montgomery County detectives obtained a warrant to search the suspect's car, they found evidence from the Montgomery County and McLean bank robberies and a BB gun believed to be used in the robberies.
